How long before I could apply for PR in Oz
Hi,,,,, How long do I have to be living and working in Oz before I can apply for PR?? Can anyone answer this, or are all cases different.

Not sure yet, I will be sponsored by my Firm here to go to Oz and work...So not aware yet of the visa type: I'm guessing 457 or if I'm really lucky ENS....I just don't want to come back to the UK once I'm there.

ENS is a PR visa. 457 visa is not. If you are planning to uproot yourself, you really need to be asking the specific questions about visa status *before* you leave the UK. And if on a 457, then ask questions like what happens if you get fired, who pays extra health and education costs you may incur if temporary etc.
Safest route in visa terms - assuming you want the move to be permanent - is to have a PR visa granted before you leave the UK.
