How you think someone on this newsgroup is going to help you about Canada I
don't know.
As for Australia, from why I've heard it's mixed. Not as bad as IT, but not great
either. And not as good as it was up to late 2000.
In order to get a good job, you will generally need to qualify as an Australian CA or
CPA. The only foreign qualifications that are of any real use in Australia are:
- chartered accountants from the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand
and Zimbabwe
- American and Irish CPAs (the latter require a university degree in addition)
- The UK based ACCA and CIMA.

Hi Jeremy!
Just wanted to know if having an MBA, CMA and CPA from the US would be considered when searching for a job in Australia. Thanks.

American CPA is usually recognised by the Australian professional accountancy bodies
(ICAA and CPAA), and you would be able to become a member of oneor both of them after
doing some exams in Australian tax and company law (although for CPAA you also
require the equivalent of an Australian bachelors degree).
MBA - depends on the institution. Most US institutions will be unknown in Australia,
however, so you would need to have evidence of the quality and reputation of your
institution in America.
CMA - not officially recognised in Australia (as far as I know), but if you can
persuade an employer to accept it, that's between you and the employer.
