Question How to get proper points assessment?

I am just tentatively looking into the Skilled Visa process and realise you have to have points totalling 120.

My questions are:

1: Where can I get an accurate points assessment (I tried a couple of places on the web and it differed according to my experience) Maximum I could squeeze out was 115.

2: I have lots of experience in different environments including Recruitment, Secretarial (Have NVQ Level 3) and most recently Management / Supervisory in the public transport domain. How can I get the maximum points? and is there a good website to check out?

Much appreciated.

The best thing to do would be speak to an agent.

Alan Collett and George Lombard who post on here are always recommended.

The best website to check out would be the DIMIA website (http://www.immi.gov.au) - it will give you information on how points are scored, as well as other requirements to migrate to Australia.

Further to the above post, Alan's website is http://www.gomatilda.com and George's website is http://www.austimmigration.com.au

For acurate info, rather than go to agencies trying to get your business go to DIMIA website http://www.immi.gov.au/migration/index.htm

download booklet 6 and go through the details of how points can be claimed - it does have a bias towards people with skills/experience in one area rather that 'jack of all trades'.

The main issue will be getting a positive skills assessment which you need to look at SOL, identify your skills and see what the appropriate assessing body requires.

If you are willing to go to particlular areas you could go for the SIR visa which requires 110 points (but is a temporary visa for 2yrs before PR can be obtained).

If you are still unsure, then by all means use an agent (ensure they are registered), and many people think highly of 2 agents Spotty mentions.

Red face Re: How to get proper points assessment?

Thanks, all information gratefully received.

My head is spinning with all the information needed, and I had also been looking at moving to Hawaii (U.S.A), so at the moment everything is getting confused together.

I have contacted the suggested websites, so hopefully this will help further.

Once again thanks for everyones help.

I totally understand how your head would be with all the information
you have to get through...I went through the channel of using a good
reputable agent to work out the intricacies of my situation. I would
highly recommend that path if you have a remotely 'complicated'
situation...good luck!
