I am helping my girlfriend apply for a Tourist Visa to Australia. I was just wondering how they calculate the 3 month period? i.e is it say Dec 10th to March 10th? or is it calculated on a set no of days? If you see my point, because Feb is a short month would we therefore lose 3 days? It makes quite a difference when trying to organise her itinerary.

I've searched the www.immi.gov.au site and can't find a definitive answer - it only ever say's 3 months.

Therefore, it's likely that the 3 months means 3 months - not 90 days like the US. So, if you have Feb (28), March (31) and April (30) you will have 89 days.

Just a tip - don't leave the flight out til the last day - if there are delays etc it might be a bit of a hassle!

The visa condition, from memory, looks like "3 months stay on each arrival" - if the tourist visa itself is a multi-entry (not sure if they do single entry ones, may be different). So it would be good until same day three months later me thinks.
