Help with TRA References

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if you are being assessed as a mechanic under the occupation experience, do we need training references? Nothing we have read mentions this and as my husband did his training over 13 yrs ago we are having great problems with no notes or books to refer to.

We have already failed with the tra and the comments were that we did not provide sufficient statements of service giving detailed independent evidence showing his full range of work skills and duties.

We have contacted an agent and they are adamant that we need this but it seems strange that nothing else mentions it.

HELP!!

Hi Kaz

We are in exactly the same position as you, except my Husband is a Joiner!

We failed the TRA in January, not enough independent evidence of training! Our Agent has too advised we gather many different documents to show this.

I too am having problems his training dates back to 1988/1990, I have been on many a wild goose chase tracing copies of documents which my Husband never kept.

My agent explained that it is a little bit like a court case, the more evidence you provide will make your case stronger!

In the dark days of our failure, I wanted to get the application straight back in, we are now at week 5 and still not got everything yet, but I have come to realise that if we want this second application to succeed we need to be patient and gather as much info as we possibly can.

If you want any suggestions on documents I have gathered, let me know.

Regards

Nikki

Thanks, it's nice to know that someone else is going through the same thing. We are now 4 weeks after our failure and no further along. Were you assessed on the occupational experience as well?

Hi Kaz

To be honest I don't know, we have an agent so as for the form filling and ticking of boxes etc...that was done for us. We are applying for a Skilled Ind. Visa. On the TRA fail letter the box they ticked was it said ' The evidence of training an work experience did not was insufficient to meet any of the available skills pathway', a hand written not said no independent evidence to demonstrate duration of training or whether full or part time.

We are now gathering evidence to support the above.

Dont worry, you're not alone, it took us a couple of months to get ours sorted out and make sure everything was covered. :)
