Help me with these questions on ACS!!!
Hello friends,
I have been filling forms and collecting data for ACS. I am applying for ACS Group B. I read through ACS website but could not find answers to my below questions:
1) Where do I specify in the ACS form that I am applying in Group B?
2) Where do I specify in the ACS form that my transcripts have 20% IT content.
3) Where do I specify in the ACS form that I need MODL?
I am interested in MODL "Computing Professional - specialising in Java 2231-79" where do I specify this?
4) Do I have to do something extra for the MODL assessment? Do I need to submit a project report as well?
Regards,
Aradhana

Re: Help me with these questions on ACS!!!
If you are handwriting the form then the boxes are quite small but you can do as I did and add the relevant information in brackets e.g. Under tertiary education I listed MCSE with the start/end dates and added Group B. Under the experience added the relevant ASCO code with 'specialisation' in brackets.
I suspect the assessors have their own criteria for weighting various certifications/transcripts and your opinion is less relevant.

I am also in the same situation. I have almost completed with all my forms. But I also dont know where to put MODL information in the form. How will ACS know I am interested in XYZ MODL?

You should use the relevant parts of the form and also provide a covering letter indicating the important points you need to make. In the case of a 20% or MODL claim you might need to write a page or two spelling it out.

Hi All,
On the topic of the Modl. My oh submitted his RPL recently however I dont think he outlined the fact that he was hoping to get the extra points for MODL. We presumed that this would automatically be given? Do we need to send our case officer an email requesting the modl?

@Mairead I failed to express in detail that I was going for the extra points, and so did my agent, as a result I have had to appeal at an extra cost of $300 and another 12 weeks wait.

Not good news Eddie!! How do I rectify this? Do I send the CO an email, if so what additional information is required?

Aradhana,
You need to spell it out in a covering letter and make your pitch. I did this for MODL assessment (SAP) nec. You have to say exactly what you are applying for. However, this does not guarantee that the ACS will agree with your claims. I found that a follow up email once the ACS had received the application directly to the assessor made a lot of difference as he confirmed that I was after the additional MODL points and got the correct code. The all important bit is to get the 12 months experience listed on the assessment letter from them as this get you the additional 15 points. As for project reports etc you need to meet the criteria set out on their web site. If you meet these you will have no problem. You cannot ask to be in group B, it's up to them to make that decision. If you have not got an IT degree you will need to do RPL which is not a bad thing as it clearly demonstrates your ability. I did not enjoy doing mine but I learnt a lot from it! Go to google and find rplhelp.

the ACS and Case Officers (which are Dept of Immigration) are two completely different things. I am sure that you can supply additional information to the reviewers/assessors in the ACS BEFORE the decision is made you are free to provide relevant info.
