Hi, My family & I (wife & 2 daughters 13 & 10)want to move to either Oz or NZ. I have been in the freight & shipping industry for the last 19 years in UK & overseas. I am told that the only way I can get in is with a job offer. How do I go about getting one? I have done the usual google searches, applied on line and the response is always the same visa first them we will look at a job offer. This is driving me round the bend as it is a chicken and egg situation. Has anyone got any advice? We would like to move in the next 6 months.

i would get in touch with some agents you can get some good free advice for your first consultation, try GoMatilda, George Lombard and Alan Collett they do post on here from time to time.

www.immi.gov.au/ that is always a good place to start and you can do an online points assesment to see how you do for points and see if your skill/trade is in demand.

Thanks for the info I will have a look. I have had a couple of free assessments and they all say the same thing, your only way in is employer sponsored.
