For applying Skilled Independent Migration, I can probably have 115
marks. For the remaining 5 marks, I intend to claim the Bonus Point -
Fluency in a Community Language (Chinese).
In fact, my social work bachelor degree course was taught halfly in
English and halfly in Chinese because the majority of clients in HK
speak Chinese. I have a letter from the university programme leader to
confirm this. Do you think I can get the 5 points?
I have some hesitation coz I am afraid they need the whole course to be
taught in Chinese.
Btw, I will reach 35 in October 2007, thus time is running short to
me.
Needing your advice and experience sharing!

Hi Tury,
Actually it's a grey area you've gotten into. The legalistic interpretation of the provision might require all the instruction to be in the community language. Better to do the NAATI test if you can, just to avoid doubt.
Cheers,

Wei Tury, ni hao...
My case was exactly like yours, I needed 5 bonus point which I gained
from Indonesian language that I claimed by providing a letter from my
dean from my uni. My bachelor degree was taught in english and
indonesian. I have lodged my PR application a month ago and have
already got my ack letter.
In my own humble opinion it will be just fine... I hope you are too in
ur part...

Hi Zhang,
I have not submitted my application as these 5 marks are important to
me. Kindly let me know of your progress.
My email: [email protected]
I have read through the details of NAATI test. It appears to be
difficult to pass coz they need us to take the professional level test.
In their report, they say the passing mark is 70 and roughly only 20%
of the candidates can pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hope that we can eventually meet in OZ one day.
Rgds,
Tury
