Help Child Sponsor

I have a huge problem My wife and I were granted PR and our daughter was born 4
months prior to the granting of the PR . We had informed the pretoria office in South
Africa of the birth prior to the issue of the PR. We had informed them by post They
claim they did not receive the info. Our dilemma is that we my wife and I have to
enter Australia by 12/5/2002 . I am in fact flying out on
15/4/2002 and my wife will follow later My question is when I go to Australia next
week can I apply for a bridging visa onshore when I am in Perth and can I get
the Perth office to waive the PR as pretoria lost the records . The main thing
is that we do not want to loose our PR ,. Last month we applied for a visitors
visa and they declined the visa What can I do Regards Anwar ,

Hi Anwar,

You and your wife both need to arrive in Australia to validate your visas,
unfortunately. If your daughter has been refused a visitor's visa then I can't
imagine a more ridiculous decision. But as there is no question of medical or
character checking for one so young, why not ask them if she can apply for PR in a
separate application? Could be processed in a week. You just need to get out of the
cycle of blame for the lost notification, because this would need their full
co-operation.

Just one point: did your wife have her x-ray while pregnant? I was talking to
another applicant about that, and just wondered how many people on this ng would
have done so.

Cheers
