Default Heart Murmurs

Hi all i have got my tailored checklist from the agency that my new employers are using and i have declared that i have a heart murmur so they have asked me to confirm if i will require treatment in Oz. I have had the murmur since i was born and i have never had a problem with it - i see my specialist every 2 years for check ups and this year is to be last as once you hit 30 they then change how often you are seen. So im not really sure what to say to them - do i say no i wont require treatment in Oz cos i most likely wont but am worried that the whole thing may go against me on the visa application and that would be devastating! would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation (not necessarily a murmur but a pre existing condition that they thought or actually did affect their visa) Maybe cos i am heading over to Oz on a work sponsored Visa it may not be that much of a cause for concern eh!

I got diagnosed with a murmur during my medical for the visa. The panel doctor said it was so faint that he would normally not even bother following it up but as it was for an Oz visa I had to see a specialist. To cut a long story short, all is ok and the consultants report went off to Oz, no problem.

I would say in your situation the best bet is to have your latest checkup results sent along with your application as evidence that it will not be a problem. You could try it without that but why leave it to chance. As will all this visa stuff, be as particular as you can and provide more than enough information and evidence and you won't go far wrong.

I have had a murmer siince birth....picked up at the meds and referred....the cardio did a few tests (ECG, Echocardiogram) And stated that the heart should be considered as perfectly normal!!!!

I also had a high BP...thats the only reason i had to go anyway!
