Re: having relative in Aus
What kind of migration:
- Remaining relative? - Skilled Sponsored? - Skilled Designated Area Sponsored? - something else? Rules are different. Why don't you say just what kind of relative you're talking about? Originally posted by lalexl for skilled migration.. the relationship is my uncle's (ie. my father's brother) wife's sister... hmm....complicated..... somehow i don't think she is a 'relative' to DIMA 1) a non-dependent child (natural, adopted, step) 2) a parent 3) a brother or sister (adoptive or step-siblings included) 4) a niece or nephew (including adoptive or step) 5) a first cousin 6) a grandchild Your father's brother's wife's sister (effectively your non-blood-related aunt's sister), isn't on this list. For skilled-Australian sponsored, only the 1st 4 types of relatives listed above will qualify. So, the answer is, you won't get much help from your "relative" as sponsor for a skilled visa. BTW, this information is easily available from the Skilled Migration Booklet, which would set you back by a grand total of AUD$10. Peter |
