Default Having a baby

Well, our application for the skilled visa has been on hold since January due to wifes impending pregnancy. Wife gave birth to a baby girl last Thursday and we are over the moon since.

Also thought it was a chance to get the medicals going again by first gettiing a birth certificate and passport sorted out for the little one. Problem is I cannot get the birth registered until 3 August (2 weeks) and then it will be another 3-4weeks for the passport application. This means it will be at least 6 weeks before we can do the medicals!!

My advice to anyone currently pregnant is to make an appointment with the Registrar in advance of the birth in order to prevent losing time.

Congrats on the baby. Thats ridiculous that you cant get your babies birth registered. You can cut the passport time down by doing it in person at the passport office in London. It costs about90 quid but it is done in a day. You need t call them and make an appointment

Good luck

Thanks! The only other way to cut the birth certificate time down is to make a declaration in another registry office, then they send the details thorugh to your local office. But even that is taking a week. I'll just have to wait!

Congratulations Majj....hope both mother and baby are doing well. Have you decided on a name yet? And can we see a photo?

Good luck with getting all the paperwork sorted
