Default Guardian Article

Interesting bit in the Guardian 2day. Was about Brits applying for general skilled
migration to Aus. They interviewed the immigration department and the upshot was that
there is approx 6000 applicants waiting at any one time and that this year there are
3500 places available (not sure when "this year" begins and ends) so you can do the
maths! With all you IT and healthcare buggers getting first call it doesnt leave the
rest of us with much hope! (i'm not bitter honest!). Anyway, the only sweetener was
that most applications will be dealt with eventually. Hopefully the Aussie economy is
showing signs of improvement so the quota may be increased at some time?

Be patient boys and girls! Si

Also states chefs, hairdressers and cabinet makers should be able to jump the queue.

Seems it will be totally random as to who is processed.
