Got the good news on Friday evening when we got home from work. The whole thing took just 10 days from the day we sent our stuff to the day we got the grant letter: -

22nd June - sent application off
23rd June - application arrived at AHC London
24th June - credit card charged
29th June - date on grant letter
2nd July - letter arrived at our home

Thank you to everyone who has responded to my specific questions, but also to all contributors - the forum has been of great assistance as we have worked our way through this process.

The list you provided is very handy. My hubby is applying for the same thing and we're still at the information gathering stage. From what everyone else has said they sent, we have far too much stuff and will have to cut it down! Looks like your application was water-tight. Well done, have lots of drinks!

Thanks, we are looking at leaving a few days after christmas bound for Sydney, with a one week or so stopover in Perth on the way to catch up with some friends for New Years Eve.

I've been in the UK for two years this month so can't wait to get back.
