Default Got my PR, can I travel alone without my husband

We got our PR sometime ago and will be travelling to australia on 12th feb.Due to personal reasons, I want to travel first to Australia and my husband joins after 2 weeks. My husband was primary applicant and me being secondary. Is it ok if i travel first?

If I am not mistaken you can only validate after primary applicant does that.

Primary applicant needs to pass through passport control before secondary applicants in the vast majority of cases. If that means him walking two steps in front of you or travelling two months before you then so be it.

I hear this a lot and it is my understanding that primary applicant has to go first. However I see no reference to this rule on my visa or visa grant letter received in December. Curious if it still is in place for most people.

My grant letter is specific on this. I have to enter first. (Primary applicant)

Our grant letter doesn't mention anything on this. I think i'll have to postpone my travel.

If it's not stated on your grant letter or visa label then it's not 'law' for you. In which case you can travel before. If the letter and/or label states primary must go first then that's what must happen.

I think I would check it if I were you. Just to be on safe side.

If you can get a straight, truthful answer from DIAC phone lines then power to your elbow. Do a search on here. People who don't have it mentioned have done it. From memory it's a certain type of visa. I'll have a look when I've finished doing dinner if no one comes and confirms or denies in the mean time

Hmmm ours doesn't mention this. In which section (which heading) of the letter does it state this?

The Wiki says primary applicant must validate first:-

http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Visa_Validation-Australia

If that's wrong then it needs to be corrected.

If you have that condition, it will say condition 8502 on your visa stamp itself.
