Good news for Accountants!!!!
RDER OF PROCESSING GENERAL SKILLED MIGRATION APPLICATIONS
From 1 January 2009, the new Ministerial Direction (S499) gives
priority processing to applications strictly in the following
order:
1. employer sponsorship; then
2. State or Territory Sponsorship; then
3. an occupation on the Critical Skill List (CSL); then
4. Business Skills; then
5. an occupation on the Migration Occupations in Demand List
(MODL); and then
6. All other applications
ACCOUNTANTS
If your nominated occupation is accountant you can re-sit your
IELTs test to obtain the Proficient level of a minimum of 7 in
each band. Once achieved please notify us as soon as your have
uploaded your results onto your application (or emailed it to
us) so that we can prioritise your application
APPLICATIONS NOT ON CSL
If you have nominated a skilled occupation that is not on the
CSL and your application is not currently eligible for priority
processing then we are unable to provide a definitive timeline
for finalising your application. This includes applications that
were previously listed on the CSL and subsequently removed
This is the recent reply I got from DIAC for PLE.
Can Accountants already filed the case but not having IELTS 7 can redo and submit IELTS again? What about the clause of date of IELTS should be before lodgment date???

Hi!
Sorry I can't answer your question but my OH is an accountant and he's sitting the test in May to get onto CSL. I just wish we'd known we could months ago! We applied in Aug 08 as MODL (175).
Great news that the application will get priority though!

Re: Good news for Accountants!!!!
hi, i was wondering if accountant applicants are required to notify DIAC they are on CSL? in one thread they say DIAC would know by looking at your IELTS (i'd like to believe this to be the case), while in another they say you have to inform DIAC. my agent says there is no need to do this, however hearing a different thing from actual visa applicants somehow creates some level of anxiety.
