If anyone can advise your friend based on the kind of information that you've just presented, I'd like to know what the advice is based on.

The only advice you should take to your friend is to either articulate his circumstances better than just a couple of brief sentences or to see a registered migration agent about his case.

I think there is no short supply of fast-food workers in Australia, since most of the current IT immigrants are gonna end up working at McD's...LOL

Sorry I couldn't resist.

Not true, only 50% will end up at mcD's the other half will be at kfc.

No no no, you are mistaken. Only half will work fast-food. The other half are gonna be driving cabs.

It's interesting to see cab driving as a potential new career for me..... In Singapore, only citizens are allowed to drive cabs; so I never had the chance to try my hand at a hired wheel...

With that choice to look forward to, I'm glad I've started my accountancy course - my driving would only frighten the punters and my cooking isn't up to much either!!

Cabbie is not an option for us cause we can't drive on the other side of the road,. LOL

My husband is looking at becoming a stocker at a supermarket. He is obsessive-compulsive about organizing things. I am sure he could do really artistic piles of cans. Janitor would be good too, since he loves cleaning.

I would love a job as a fry-cook at McD's but I am afraid you need a Certificate 1 in Commercial Cookery for that, so the best I can hope for is cashier.

Actually, I don't like city driving. I prefer to parallel park or L-park - which means I'll have to line up for a hotel valet's job instead of a cabbie's.

I think that's enough IT bashing. I'm sure there are very few people
that can be certain of landing a job upon arriving in Australia, no
matter what their occupation.
