The 176 visa date for allocating case officers hasn't moved now for a couple of months! I know they are busy but this is crazy! Can anyone offer me some positive advice?!

Bit of an exageration. Its actually been only 3 weeks, as it moved forward about a week the week of Oct 13th.

patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to waiting for your visa.

3 weeks? When I checked on 30 September 08 they were allocating case officers for 20 Nov 07. Last time I checked they were still stuck on 20 Nov 07. Date today is the 10 Nov so that means its almost a couple of months.

We applied on March 20th 2008, absolutely no movement online at all, we are from a HR country. Today our agent emails us saying that they do not expect a formal request for medicals & pcc until Feb 2009
However, the agent wants us to complete the medicals & pcc so we can frontload before the formal request.
This is probably the most frustrating waiting I've done all my life. I just hope it works out in the end & is worth all the trouble

what it appears to mean is that they will not allocate case officers to other applications unless all the pre-Sep 1 '07 applicants are allocated a CO. i think it's only fair to do it that way because they have been waiting for more than a year now!

I understand that they won't move the dates on their timelines anymore until August have finalized, so the date of 25th July will remain until then.

Is this too long?
I applied for a 457 visa on 23 september 2008
Medicals were finalised on 14 november
Upto today 12/11/2008 ,thay are just quiet
This is nearly a month after medicals were finalised
The other thing ,when i applied ,i had indicated that i would like to have the visa on or by 23 November.I am expected to start work on 1 december 2008

Are they delaying because i will be starting work in december or they have pressure of work

it should be. but aug 2007 applicants are now getting their CO's and visas, so i hope the date (25 july 2007) refers to them. but as it is, even the 175 and 176 have not moved a bit since about 2 months ago even as applicants everywhere are allocated COs and granted visas....

hi inno,

don't wish to dampen your high spirit and hope ..if you do get your VISA on your preferred date ...you would be the 1st in the whole of this forum to get a VISA under 2 months !!

The truth is you got to wait ... wait ... wait and waiting is what most of us here have been doing, cheering and encouraging each other along the way so as to keep our spirit and hope high.

cheers !
