Default Form 80 character assessment-required for 175 online app?

Hi all,

I have seen some people on BE mentioning form 80 (character assessment) in connection with visa applications. I filled out my application online and can't remember coming across it, although there was a section containing the same kind of questions. Could someone please tell me whether form 80 has to be completed for 175 online applications? Many thanks!

Some get it requested by COs, some get their visas granted without it. Really no way of telling. If you do fill it in and upload it, in case it will be needed, you would save time by not having it requested - if that makes any sense?

Thanks NJ, sounds like a good idea - I'd do anything to speed up the process!

My point exactly, could have saved some time by having it ready for the CO - only thing is no way of telling how much! lol

Does it need to be certified then?

No, it does not. Fill it in, sign&date, scan and email. Or attach to the electronic application, whichever.

Hi afroswede,

Glad to see that you got your Visa So did you submit your medicals right after your visa application?

Also, did they ask for PCC from you before the visa grant?

Hi Live2Learn,

I submitted my medicals in August 2007 for a previous visa application. As far as I know, a visa will not be granted unless you have submitted a PCC.

Hi afroswede,

Good to see your mail. I've uploaded my PCC just yesterday i.e 20 days after lodging my application even though my CO is no assigned to me yet.

I am just sending everything before hand to save some time in the future

My medicals is tomorrow. But I still have a feeling that I am doing my medicals a little too early... Well lets do it anyways.

Ok I've heard that the medicals and PCC should be valid EVEN after the visa is granted and till the time you make your first entry into Australia. Is it true afroswede?

Yes, you first entry date is usually a year after the date you had your medical or pcc done, whichever was the earlier.

Thanks for the mail Pollyana,

Now on the footer of my PCC it says: This Clearance Certificate is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

I am afraid, by the time I get a CO, my PCC would become invalid/expire (though it is valid now, as we speak)

So my CO might request me to get a new PCC then?
