I don't get this...
My skills have already been assessed...nothing has changed apart from I gave
up my job...
so surely its a fruitless exercise in getting the same skills assessed
again???
Can someone please shed some light on this...
You are all aware of my situation...
Should I contact DIMIA and ask whether or not I just need to submit a new
application to them, including new medicals and police clearances, or would
they require a new skills assessment too?
Thanks

I reckon 50% of the Australian economy is subsidised by DIMIA!!! LOL...
But seriously though...why can't they just be a bit more human!!!
Ahh, never mind!!!

I think someone has already pointed out that you are refusing to
listen to advice and are waiting for the answer you want to hear. I
don't you will get that answer and you are wasting time in waiting. I
seem to remember advising someone (could it be you?) to contact the
migration officer at the relevant embassy or consulate and request
authorisation to breach the entry conditions given the exceptional
circumstances. You didn't do in this and the entry date has now
passed.
You are now being given two further options by others:
1. Head over there and see if you can make the entry anyway. You might
not even get on the plane however.
2. Reapply. You should be successful again.
I still suggest you contact the migration officer and see if you can
get leave to entry after the visa date. It's a bit late in the day,
but it will cost you nothing and might be successful. However, as you
are hell bent on not listening to advice and are digging yourself in
deeper by the day, I wonder if I am wasting my time like so many
others.

Either take the advice you ask for, or forget about it and stay where you
are. Unfortunately, most of the rules and regulations that DIMIA must
operate under are cast in stone and cannot be adjusted. So far you have
ignored the advice I have seen. You need to decide now and take the
appropriate action. Your continued procrastination will only further
exacerbate your problem.

Guys,
I am putting my case In writing to DIMIA. I feel as I have a very strong
case, I will be sending proof of my Mother's Illness etc, after which I hope
that I will be able to enter Australia.
Thankyou...
Zak

So, forget about the migration officer at the embassy who in my
experience is best placed to help you now. Good luck anyway.
