Foreign Police check - is a translation needed?

Hello,

Just got hubbies and my foreign police check to use for our ENS. They told me would take 6 weeks but it came in one!

However our names, date of births, city of birth are in English.
But the bit that says no criminal record is in a foreign language!

So now Im baffled will immigration accept this? Or will I need it translated?
The language is not German or French, but another language.

If it needs translated who do I use? Im hoping not as I live rural and its going to be a right pain when I know it says we are not criminals.

Rang immigration it does need translated. grrrrr
They said to look up Naati translators and they will accept them doing it.
However no translators on the list in my state for this language:frown:

Hi Gems,

What language is the document in? If you're struggling to find a translator, feel free to contact me by pm or email (sara at managedmigration dot com dot au) and I can assist you in getting a translation of the document through the translator I use.

Cheers

Sara

Being as where you are, does it matter if it has to go to another state? You'd probably have to post it anyway, even if the translator was in Perth.

Moneypenny,
I wanted it done quickly and would have prefered it done in Perth (would have drove down if needed).
Also worried about it going missing in post, it was a pain to get.
However looks like Ive no choice but to send it away some other state.

Saraliz I will pm you, thanks

Use a courier and make certified copies before sending it off.

Just a quick question - why did you mention that they are not in German or French?
Do German or French PCCs not have to be translated?

Hi Everyone,

All foreign language documents need to be translated. Some NAATI translators might translate a scan rather than needing to see the original and would then attach a copy of the image received to the translation.

Yes, french and german would still need translated. I just meant it was not one of the more well known languages - eg bound to be plenty of translators for german and french.

Will see if they accept scanned documents, and if not will use courier like JAJ suggests

Thanks everyone
