VISA granted on January and first entry to Australia on 19th June.
Everything went ok. No problem in immigration.

I have a question for you to answer for me please.

I am on BQ 139 VISA,
Is it possible to get parenting payments or Family tax benefit payments from CentreLink?

I am not expert but as far as I understand it a child under 16 can benefit straight away from Centrelink whereas Adults have to wait the full 2 yrs... so I would have thought that the child should be entitled to the Aussie equivalent of Child Benefit..

I have found this page on Centrelinks Website http://www.centrelink.gov.au/interne...g_payments.htm which goes into detail about tax credits & childcare payments but you will need to have a read of the T&Cs to see if eligable in immediately.
