Hi
I would appreciate some advice on a fiance visa application that I am
about to submit
How important is it to supply the following info
1/stat dec from friends and family
2/Social context???Financial documents showing joint accounts
My querie is. How can any of my friends and family in Australia possibly
make a stat dec on someone they have never met. This whole process
doesnt make sense. I havent been able to bring my fiance to Australia
yet.
Does DIMA expect you to have a joint account set up with a person who
hasnt landed in Australia yet??? Can someone explain these 2 issues.
Maybe these booklets are "general" and try and cover requirements for
other visas like spouse as well. But I do not understand the fiance
fragment of it
Would appreciate help thanks Carlo

Very important. It's part of the criteria
> 2/Social context???Financial documents showing joint accounts
This is for stage 2 of the Visa process. Meaning she's got her fiancé visa,
came out here and you've got married. After the marriage you need to file
more paperwork that includes more stat decs and proof that the relationship
is continuing and genuine (joint bank accounts, utility bills etc)

Well forgive me for being nosy
But how long has the relationship been
going?. How much "Real time" have you both spent together?. Have you spent
time in her country?. If so, do you have photo's, airport boarding passes
etc that can prove you've actually met?. You're gonna need all that.
You'll also need proof such as phone bills, cards, emails, basically
anything that shows you've been in constant contact with eachother.
To answer your question, i don't think your friends and family have to
actually physically meet her to make a stat dec. However, they would
basically be making a statement saying that they believe you are in a
serious relationship with your bride to be etc.

See above. Joint accounts are for stage 2 of the process.

I went through the similar thing you're going through. My husband and I had
to go through this...I'm from America and as you can guess, husband's an
Aussie.
I had to collect quite a lot of things -- same with
Andrew...supplied emails to each others, pictures of us together,
recieptscfrom places we've gone to together...letters (yeah, letters you and
finace' have written to one another.) I got a couple of personal stat decs
from 2 friends who met my husband when he came out to USA to visit with me.
There are some more things that were required, but I cannot remember them
right off the top of my head as they're all in the file box. :P If you're
interested in obtaining more information on what is required of your fiancee
to do from her side....email me directly, ok? Just remove _nospam_ from the
address before sending it to me.![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Cheers,
Dawn
