Fiance visa
My fiance and I want to get married in Australia. She is Australian, I am British. My question is, she is on benefit, because she has to be home to care for her young children who need constant care.I would have quite a bit of money to take with me, from the sale of my property. She is able to support me and therefore provide for all my needs as is required.Does anyone know how the immigration would look at this?

Hi,
Just a quick question relvent to this thread, can I add my fiancé in my GSM application being processed in DIAC? If yes, what documents they need for verification?
Regards

It is still possible to get a PMV application up when the sponsor is on social welfare benefits, but it will need rather more work than is usual.

Yes I can see they look inconsistent. What I was trying to point out was that although she is on benifit, she is able to me all the requirements of the visa.As I said as well I would have money of my own .Would this help at all?

Re: Fiance visa
Quite possibly would be taken into account, but usually they are more interested in the sponsor's ability to support the applicant. As Les says, it can be done - I had a friend on this forum years ago who managed to sponsor her fiance into the country in spite of being unelpoyed for quite sometime, so it is possible, BUT I would echo is advice that it would need more work than a usual PM Visa. I would speak to a registered agent about the best way to present your case

There's one already posted on the thread Several other good ones use BE - for example George Lombard, Stephen Dickson, Alan Collett - if you put their names into "search" you should find their contact details.

The migration agent you select will advise on this once they have more details, as it would be specific to your case.

You really do need to talk to an agent, and be prepared to pay for the advice.
