Yes. Your case officer is not going to email you just to say hi. They will only contact you if/when they need information. Many people never know they have a case officer at all - they simply find their visa grant letter in their inbox.

Yes but if you haven't front loaded meds & pcc then surely the first thing the CO will do is email you to request them?

Obviously!! What do you expect?? They submitted in Apr 2008.. and you submitted in Feb 2009.. that's 10 months before you did!!

Not necessarily. The case officer will do any checks he or she deems necessary before requesting police checks and medicals which have a validity of only 12 months. Some checks take much more than that to be done.

I think if you have not lodged any PLE befores, then you can just lodge one and check the status .some times they might tell you if you have a CO .. I have read few posts here for which people have got positive responses after sending PLE for CO status on the application..

Correction. I mistakenly put 2008 should have read Apr 2009

Just wondering, did you notify DIAC through PLE that you belong to CSL?

I have just learnt this today that for computing NEC (2231-79), you have to explicitly notify them to get priority processing. I verified it from the fact tht whenever you lodge a PLE, you get an immediate automated response. That response mail says tht for accountatnts with IELTS 7 and computine NEC should notify DIAC about CSL.

So just in case you didnt, I think tht probably could be the reason!

I didn't notify anyone, I just submitted the online application and uploaded requested documents. I think the application has a checkbox for specifying whether your skills are on the CSL. Better still I would assume that the DIAC would know from the skills code that I applied under that Java Programmers are on the CSL ?

You would think so, but I've read elsewhere that all IT applicants need to submit a PLE if they are entitled to CSL status, this has been extensively discussed in other threads. I submitted one and got a response along the lines of "thanks for letting us know".

I was also under the same impression till today morning mate!

But I was wrong, and so are you.

Whenever you send a PLE to DIAC, you receive an automated response. The response clearly says tht accountants with IELTS 7 and computer NEC with MODL need to notify DIAC for their inclusion into CSL. I came to notice it today only, when somebdyelse pointed out the PLE reqiuirement in another thread.

So send a PLE immediately. I am convinced now tht this is why u dont have a CO yet

Below is the part of response from DIAC tht i am referring to-

COMPUTING PROFESSIONALS

If your nominated occupation is Computing Professional, ASCO
Code 2231-79, then to be eligible you must also be on the Migration
Occupations in Demand List (MODL). See MODL:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...ation/skilled-
occupations/occupations-in-demand.htm

Once you have identified under which 'Specialisation' your occupation
is considered, please notify us as soon as you have uploaded
your Positive ACS Skills Assessment onto your application (or
email it to us) so that we can prioritise your application.

Thanks. Funnily enough I submitted one earlier asking for a progress update.

Should I just wait for the response on that one or do I send another indicating the fact that I am on the CSL ?

I'm not sure, I've read that when a C.O. first updates your case it says "Application being processed further" but also that for some people it never changes until visa grant.
