FBI Checks from Australia
Hi,
Does any one have any experience applying for FBI fingerprints check from Australia. I did the cecks 1st july at the local police station and they have mailed it to FBI. When I called FBI last night for a status update, they say they do not have it in their system yet...Do I need to reapply again or just wait and see... Cheers Lucky |

Cheers Lucky From my understanding I think that you applied for Australian character clearance (AFP). I attached the relevant form. AFP do not need fingre prints and they do Name Check only (for DIMIA purpose). cheers ! |
Re: FBI Checks from Australia
Hi myvkee,
I applied for my AFP separately and got it back within a week, but to apply for FBI , I needed a fingerprinting service. I was asked to get the fingerprinting done here in sydney at a local police station, but they said they will send the forms and the fp direclty to FBI and they insisted they use regular post. I am not sure if its lost in the post or FBI is generally slow in their processing. Cheers |
Re: FBI Checks from Australia
I have ordered FBI clearance twice, once in the US and once from NZ and both times it took approximately 6 weeks from the time the FBI received them.
Both of these sites have info: http://usembassy-australia.state.gov...liceclear.html http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm What I got back both times was the fingerprint card that was submitted and on the back the FBI stamped: "No Record" Also, I mailed both requests priority with trackable postage so I would know it got to FBI offices. Seems to me that the FBI should have it by now if you had the fingerprinting done on July 1st and they were mailed out in the next day or two. Might want to consider redoing the prints & doing the mailing yourself. HTH |
