EOI help - Education history

Hi everyone,

My partner is applying for the EOI and holds a City & Guilds Level 1 and 2 qualification from the UK (in Plastering). We’re a bit stuck on which option to select under the "What is your highest qualification?" section.

The options are:
  • Diploma
  • AQF Certificate IV
  • AQF Certificate III
  • Other Qualification or award recognised by assessing authority
When I completed the EOI the other day, I accidently selected "Other non-AQF accreditation" for the qualification, and it came back immediately saying we weren’t eligible. So now I’ve had to go back and choose a different option for the education section.

Does anyone know which option is correct for City & Guilds qualifications? Also, how long can you leave an EOI unsubmitted or incomplete? And can making changes or having an incomplete EOI affect your chances later on?

Thanks in advance for any help really appreciate it!

Does your partner have a valid skills assessment?

I had a quick look, and solid plasterer (ANZSCO 333212) requires equivalent of a Cert III which is typical for trades.

You do need a valid skills assessment before submitting an EOI, and obtaining one can take time. A Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) with Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) should be completed within 120 days typically
