Congratulations.. with my calculations it has taken 8 months...are there people who have gotten theirs sooner, say within 5 months? How do they process that some people get theirs in 5 months and some in 10 months?? i am confused!!!

Hi
Just hoping to join this thread.
We FINALLY (after a long long wait) had our 856 application sent to Melbourne on Tuesday 29th March (by registered post). We lodged the nomination and our part (with medicals etc) at the same time.
Hoping for a speedy outcome

The agent mentioned it to me, said that there was a fast track system. My agent is from one of the large Accountancy/Solicitors in Sydney. It was lodged at DIAC Sydney. I'm in IT investment banking.
Hope this helps

Hi guys,
I've been following this forum thread for a while but this is my first post.
I am ready to lodge my 856 application and I am trying to provide as much information as possible and complete every checklist I can find.
One point I am stuck on is showing evidence of having worked full-time in australia for the last two years and at least the last 12 months with the nominating employer. What info did other applicants supply? Pay slips? Letter from employer? tax info?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Dom

Hey all and congrats to those who have got the visa's and nominations granted recently.
I am off to see our agent tonight, make sure we have everything ready, and then off to book medicals tomorrow and pay for them, so hopefully in the next two weeks we can say bye bye to the visa nomination.
Hopefully wont have to wait too long, we are using the DRC and have already had our nomination and TRA approved.
I am getting very excited again, not sure why, do I really want to be playing the waiting game again?
Has anyone else used this route and how long did it take you? Hoping weeks rather than months....

Hi Guys,
I'm new here, and I found the forums in this website very relevant.
Currently I'm on 457 visa and planning to apply for 856 visa. My ASCO code classifies me as General Electrician but the license that I got is Restricted Electrical Worker. I have TRA - Electrical Fitter(Instruments). My employer told me that it is only possible to lodge the visa if I have A-grade electrical license.
Do I really need that to apply for 856?
I also got 'Migration Skills Assessment Application Result' letter from DEEWR classifying me as 'General Electrician'.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks,
Henz

They dont provide with any reason... they say 7-8 months is a normal time frame for processing ENS.
NOBODY CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT...

Hi Henz,
What is your occupation in your current 457 visa? I think if you are going to apply for 856, you should nominate the same occupation with your 457. You may apply for another occupation but it might complicate things.
For your next question, (Do I really need to apply for 856?) if you do not want to be a permanent resident in australia, you dont need to apply. You can work and stay in australia for the validity of your 457 work visa.
If you dont want to go the ENS route, you can do it independently either 175 or 176. There are many threads here for 175/176 visa applicants that you can check such as current processing times, issues, etc.
You can use the DRC (decision ready checklist) thru a registered migration agent. It might facilitate faster processing (case to cases basis).
Cheers!
