Re: ENS Visa (121/856) Current Timescales
Hi again
I sent off my 856 application last Monday and received an email on Friday saying that......We have begun to process your application. This email confirms that your payment has been receipted and your application has been assessed as a valid application.....
That seems quick for the receipt of application to me? Maybe I'm getting over excited as I've been reading all your comments. I really hope the people who have been waiting ages hear some good news soon.

Re: ENS Visa (121/856) Current Timescales
So there is a list of high/low risk countries for health reasons and a list of countries for ETA [CODE]Passport holders from the following European countries are eligible for an ETA: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City and UK Citizens (and British Nationals overseas).
Passport holders from the following North American countries are eligible for an ETA: Canada, USA.
Passport holders from the following Asian countries/territories are eligible for an ETA: Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan./CODE]
Are there then High and low risk countries in terms of character requirements?

Our visa stage of the application was lodged 15/03 and i have received the following email after sending an enquiry "Thank you for your e-mail.
The application which you have queried below has not yet been allocated to
a case officer. Once this application is allocated to a case officer, they
will be in contact with you should any further information be required.
Please note that current the service standards for processing ENS/ RSMS
visas are:
5 months for ETA eligible passport holders; and
7 months for non-ETA eligible passport holders.
However, in practice, the processing officer will seek to finalise the
application as soon as practical. Lodging complete applications will
enable more prompt finalisation of assessment and decision"
Apparantly they have already sent an email stating the payment was accepted but this is on my laptop which crashed and currently in the shop being repaired....

[DIAC to consolidate processing of visa applications[/B]
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) will consolidate, centralise and relocate the
case work for several visa subclasses starting 1 April 2010 as part of an ongoing program to:
Improve and integrate telephone and online services;
Allow greater automation of transactions;
Increase access through engagement with external service providers;
Link better with business and the community.
1 April 2010 to 20 June 2011
ACT and Regional Office (ACTRO) Onshore paper and eStudent visa processing will be
consolidated to Sydney.
1 July 2010 to 31 December 2010
Onshore eStudent visa processing will be consolidated to the Sydney, Perth and Adelaide;
Sponsored Family Visitor (Subclass 679) visa processing will be centralised in Sydney and
Brisbane;
Resident Return and Australian Declaratory visas, and Certificate of Evidence of Residence
Status applications, which cannot be processed on the spot will be centralised in Sydney;
Victoria Citizenship application processing will be consolidated to Melbourne;
ACTRO Offshore Second State Partner visa processing will be relocated to Brisbane.
2011 and Beyond
Prospective Marriage visa processing will be consolidated to Melbourne;
Onshore Citizenship by Descent visa processing will be centralised in Melbourne and/or
Perth;
ACTRO caseload will be be relocated to alternate state and territory offices around Australia
with a long term goal of ACTRO's
i think diac has started working on the backlogs now and after 1st of april they have started moving faster making a note that 856 will still get the highest prirority so they will be shifting the applications to appropriate locations....
keep ur fingers crossed and good luck
