Hi Experts

I am desperate to know about English language requirements for assessment by TRA in order
to immigrate to Australia. I think passing IELTS is not compulsory. What are English
language assessment criteria set by TRA for tradepersons and what are the language points
awarded to tradepersons.

Hi Sohail

TRA has no English language requirements for the applicant in its trades skills assessment
process for migration. It does require certified English translations of all documents
provided to it.

However, there is an English language requirement for the migration application itself,
and appropriate communication ability is a requirement for Australian residents seeking
assessment in Australia for an Australian trades qualification.
