Default education points

hi

in the new point system, to claim points for educational qualification it is mentioned: "Diploma completed in Australia, trade qualification completed in Australia, or qualification or award of recognised standard - 10 points".

Now for those who want claim for qualification gained overseas, how they will get points? by their skills assessment or by other means? and what does the "award" actually means?

Thanks.

There's your answer. If the qualification is of a recognised standard, then the applicant can gain the points. If you're going for GSM, you will need to get your skills assessed anyway.
