Default does anybody have any ideas ?

Hi everbody, we are flying to Kuala Lumpur 01 Dec and arrive at 8 am,and we have got to hang about until our onward flight at 21:45 the same day(night).
Has anybody any ideas on what we could do to while away the time, we have 3 daughters 17y 11y & 6y so it could be a long un,should we be getting into a hotel or not? or is there things to do at the airport?

Any advice much appreciated

Hiya Paul,

My son and I spent only 4 hours at KL and it whizzed past. There is not much to do really, but there are loadsa shops *eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek get the wallet out* and there is a massuse there (did not see that til we were going for our ongoing flight *sigh*) there is internet there... as I said I only had 4 hours there but it was fulfilled *shrug*

Nice airport though, clean and pretty quiet

Aren't you suppose to get a hotel room (from the airline company) anyway if
you are staying more than 12 (or maybe 8) hours?

I suggest you think about having a quick look around KL. I havn'e been
there but my wife has (twice) and she reckons it's worhte a look.
You'll probably have to pay airport tax if you take this option.

You could try the Airport Hotel
http://www.klia.com.my/index.php?ch=22&pg=72&ac=49
It's airside (i.e. you don't have to leave the transit area) and it can be
booked for 6-hour blocks at fairly reasonable rates.

last time we fly out with them on same sort of time scale they provided a
hotel room for the day.It may be worth the ask at the Airline/Travel
Agent...booking agent may not mention the fact.

Hi Paul,

The airport is far from the city although now there is a express train to the city if you are interested to just have a look at how Kuala Lumpur City looks like. It takes about half an hour per trip. And it takes about another 10 - 15 minutes by LRT to reach KLCC Twin Towers. However, by the time you travel there, I don't think you will be able to get tickets to go up there as it is usually all gone by mid morning. However, you can do some shopping there.

Yeah and some have suggested that you check with your airline if they do provide you with accomodation to freshen up - that should be at Pan Pacific Hotel which is in the airport area.

Have a good day trip

Bear in mind that the "Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)" isn't actually in KL. It's actually two states away from KL, and you'll need to catch some from of connecting transport - airport limo or the electric train - to get into KL proper.

Hey Tipper hope your treatment goes well and you get your head sorted before you get to Oz

Its a shame this site has gone the way it has, from helpful to obstructive
