Documents for 457

Hi ,
I have read that one of the documents required for a 457 visa are proof of school qualifications , is proof of this absolutely necessary ? as my DH is nearly 40 and its been a couple of yrs since he left school :D, we have no idea where the certificates are .

As the person being sponsored, I submitted mine, but my wife's nutty mother threw hers out years ago, so she did not submit hers.
