Do I need to enter OZ every 6 months ? PR will be canceled ?

Hi

I was issued a PR in Nov 2011 and landed in Australia in June 2012 and validated my PR. Spent 3 months in OZ and since then was absent from OZ.
I am planning to go back to OZ in August 2013 which means I am going to enter OZ after 9 months from my last exit from OZ.
As far as I know for most of countries such as US and Canada if a PR holder is absent for more than 6 months then PR will be automatically canceled.
Does is apply for Australia and will my PR canceled if I am absent from OZ for more than 6 months ?
Thanks and looking forward to your advices
Regards:thumbsup:

No. You can travel freely in and out of Australia on your permanent visa for 5 years from the date of issue, as many or as few times as you like for as long or short a period as you like (as long as you validate the visa by the validation date deadline, which you did in June 2012).

After 5 years, if you have not acquired citizenship (and it sounds unlikely that you will have done by then), you will need a resident return visa if you leave Australia and want to return as a permanent resident. There is more about them here.
