Here is my Data :
I applied for PR (IT Professional) in July 2001 in Berlin. I received my file number
one week after that. On the 6.Nov.2001, I received a letter telling that the
Processing time was unknown.
I guess that if everybody from the newsgroup applying in Berlin (IT or not) writes
about his dates we should have a good idea of the files that are currently processed.

They seem to run out of places for this financial year (July 2001-June
2002). Apparently each DIMA post gets a certain quota allocated. From what I heard on
this newsgroup and from phoning one guy at DIMA Berlin it seems, that Berlin
(and London, btw.) have by far more applicants than places available. For IT
applicants it's seems to be slightly better as DIMA tries to primarily fill the
places with these applicants. But even if you have applied under that category,
don't get your hopes up too much. Once the quota is exceeded, applications are
delayed until the next financial year.
My own details:
- appl. submitted 01.Aug.2001 (skilled-indep., IT qualif.)
- received letter in Nov. saying, that waiting time can't be determined
I am actually in Australia now, trying to find some contract work and a sponsor for a
457 temporary residence visa.

PS: all the above is unofficial information collected from various sources.
