Dilemma between 175 & 176 after CO
 

Hi all,
although this is my first post, but I'm always a frequent reader on this forum since i launched my application last July. here i would like to ask opinions from all of you to a quite unique problem i am facing now. please read my following time line:
July 2008 = Submitted my application under GSM 175 (CSL).
April 2009 = Submitted WA State Sponsorship after 10 months of long waiting without any feedback from DIAC.
May 2009 = CO allocated from Team 09 for my GSM175 and he is requesting for additional documents. I managed to submit all of the requested documents by end of May 09.
August 09 = WA SS approved but not yet submit the Form 1100 back to WA migration office.

now without any news yet again from DIAC/CO which makes in into dilemma again if i should sign the WA SS agreement to speed up my process?

If you already have a CO, I suppose no need to go for WA SS( 175 has the freedom to live in any state in Oz) ...Accepting SS at your stage of application, where in you already have your CO, will not anyways make it faster/better..However, If your profession has any threat of coming down from the CSL , then you can accept WA SS to be in the priority list...:).. I guess CSL/MODL will have a change in Oct 09...
At present... Just wait for your visa Grant , as u have sent all the docs requested by CO...( Visa Grant may take months Or You may get it in a day.. It all depends on your specific case)

Or make contact with CO and ask the current situation - are you a high risk country? It seems a long time with the CO unless they are doing security/work place checks etc.

i applied my GSM175 under Electronics Engineer profession and i am from Low Risk Country. i felt so weird why would my CO need such a long time to verify my documents. does any one from low risk country experienced such a long delay in visa grant?

Dont feel wierd.. its a general process of DIAC to carry out some checks( Only known to DIAC !!!!) etc for all applicants...Be patient and hope for the best...:thumbup:

So in conclusion i should wait longer for my GSM-175 instead of sign the 176 WA SS agreement?

If I were in your situation, I would have gone for WA SS...
Reasons::)
1. You are out of CSL rat race and terrific thoughts of your skill being out of CSL...
2. Chances of getting 175, even though u have accepted SS is High(Many in the forum have got 175 after accepting SS, Including me)...

So, Its your reasoning being in SS..

you can always accept the ss later if you get dropped from csl (assuming you still meet the pool mark) as might still be modl and still have the points CHECK THIS for certain though as few of us on here are experts.

I say again after 3 months with a co, and most people from low risk countries getting a visa in weeks after getting CO, I'd make contact and ask current situation - maybe if there is a genuine delay rather than file being lost etc it would still affect a ss and needs sorting regardless. I am assuming no agent involved.
