Dilema!! Medicals
Recvd request to go for Meds, and booked for next week, have started to fill in the form 26 and one of the questions asks if you have ever had back or neck pain, sods law but just before xmas i slipped hurt my neck and arm and was off work, on the mend now and returned to work this week, thing is i had an x-ray which highlighted a minor condition, mainly wear and tear on the bones where the gap between the bones has disappeared for two bones in the top of my neck, Dr said its nothing to worry about, he didnt even tell me what its called!! - should i put it down on the form, i am not having any treatment fand havent been referred to the hospital or anthing, the only thing i am having done is a assessment of my desk and sitting position at work which work are doing for me... If i dont put it down i am worried it looks like i am hiding something if I do, i am concerned that it looks worse than it is and they may want medical reports etc .... ahhhh
will the panel Dr require any further information from me, or is it just ongoing medical problems there interested in
Should be happy we have the meds but all kinds of stuff goes through your head as to reasons why they may turn you down, would hate to get

When we had our meds done we just left any sections blank on form 26 we weren't sure about and just asked the doc whilst we there. He filled in all the relevant info there and then and asked whatever questions he thought were relevant.
Hope that helps, good luck with the visa app

I would say, if you are in any doubt, put it down, but ask your GP for a written report on it confirming there's nothing serious. Then take that along and explain all to the panel doctor. My husband had spinal surgery a few years back and took along his xrays and proof that he was all perfect now (actually, he's more than perfect and with all the added titanium, probably has a stronger back than any one else ) and Dr was happy with that.
My daughter had a sleep test when she was 2-3 yrs old and we never heard anything about it, I had to but it down as she was admitted to hospital, the doc asked what it was for and I told him she used to make funny noises when asleep, he asked for correspondence for it. I had to ask the docotrs for any info about the sleep test, they had a minor entry on the medical records and also a letter recommending that she had her tonsils out First I'd heard about it (she was 10 by now). I just sent in the info and a letter saying, this is all that was said about it and as she had gone for a further 7 years with no issues, one could only assume she has out grown the problem.

The question is unequivocal - have you EVER had...
There is no dilemna for you - you need to declare it.
You need to leave the rest to the panel doctor.
I must warn you that from time to time, people lie to me at medicals (not DIMA medicals) and get found out - it looks much worse for them than if they had just told me the truth to start with and makes me incredibly suspicious about what else they're hiding.
Also please remember that if you do decide to take a letter from your GP or copies of reports etc, your GP is perfectly entitled to charge you for this service as it is not part of NHS services.
Good luck

The doctor told us there and then he didn't see any problems with my medical but couldn't of course say about the bloods.
Be open about it. As Madhu said if you leave it out and they find out they might start to question other things.

Good luck with your medicals
I would declare it and take a letter with you explaining everything, especially stating that it is not an ongoing problem and also stating that you did not need treatment for it.
Please don't worry one of my daughters had a disease in her hip when she was young, I took a letter from her specialist and one from her GP with us to the medicals. The doc doing the meds didn't even ask me one question about it and we got our visa without any further info being requested.
