I had mine and my sons back in November, as I had some funds in my private healthcare from the job I was leaving . All pretty straightforward, dont think a chest infection is a worry . I had a lump under my arm , but it was a fatty tissue (thank god) and they never even queried it.

Hubbie and daughter have theirs Thursday, so fingers crossed

Good luck and get well soon

We had ours last year and frontloaded them. They are straightforward John, if anything they are very basic, the bloods are always a bit of a worry and can remember that was the only thing i was worried about, i was a front line police officer at the time and came across alot of people with HIV, and HepB, hence my reasons for concerns.

Now we have to do them again as the practice is no longer on the list

Hi,

If your X-Ray Shows TB, they might Tell you to cure the TB First & Then Re-medical & then will give you Visa.

Frontloading is always a bit of a risk as they are only valid for 12 months. Haven't heard of anyone being asked to redo them just because of a practice no longer being on the list though? Are you sure its not because they are 12 months old (or as good as) and so would need re-doing anyway?

Meds were fine, nothing to it. it was less intrusive than we thought. Waiting about was usual so not too bad. Journey time was worse bit

For us the worst part of the whole experience was handing over the small rectangle of plastic in my wallet, pressing four numbers, and saying goodbye to another shedload of our money. Ah its only money ........

As for the medical my doctor said, and I quote, "I don't really want to know anything unless its you've been in the hospital for it." My broken leg of 38 years ago didn't really interest him ...

Default Re: DIAC Time Line Updates on 1 February 2011

Internal checks may take different times regarding to the country where you are from.

For example;
If you are a Pakistani applicant, you would have to wait 10* months in average.
If you are a Turkish applicant, you would have to wait 8 months in avarage.
If you are a Indian applicant, you would have to wait less than other two.

However, nowadays, as I observed internal checks of Pakistani applicants takes 12 months. The time might be extended by DIAC.

* This is the time between CO allocation and Visa grant

Would frequent mail contact to DIAC delay the processing? Is that true?

Thanks,

Thanks,

What a ludicrous question. If your job were constantly being interrupted by thousands of clients wanting to know how their job was coming along would that delay your work?

Default Anticipation of temporary ceasing of offshore migrant visa?

I am just wondering whether there is any tips about temporarily ceasing offshore migrant visa as DIAC usually do in the past before the new changes come into effect.

Thanks.
