Default diabetes and PR

hi, got my meds on friday for mine and the familys PR visa to aus.

recently got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few months back, also got a vey high BMI of 49.

been doing v well on my diet, (lost three stones in three months so far), my gp has written a report to take with me to the medicals, saying the diabetes is diet controlled with no organ involvement, also saying my diabetes rating has gone down by .3 in ten weeks. BP within normal range.

has anyone else had a simliar story when going for meds? still worrried about holding up the visa or maybe being rejected. any words of advice from similar applicants?

So long as you are otherwise healthy you should be fine. Type II diabetes is not usually enough to fail on medical grounds unless there are other health issues as well.

Congratulations on getting that BMI down! It's not easy to do but if you keep at it you will be fitter and feeling healthier every day.

Do a search on the word diabetes and you should find several. Can't remember names offhand but there have been a fair few posting over the years.

Every case is different, but as a general rule controlled diabetes is not a bar to successful grant of a visa.

It is of course your choice whether you wish to take the risk of applying, or alternatively, abandon the idea of migration.

If you need professional assistance, there are only a few agents who can offer any kind of assistance in this area and you would need to pay.
