My prospective employer agreed to go ahead with the RSMS sponsorship instead of 457 since I will need to work with them for 2 years. I have already lodged my 175 visa last month and hope I can offset the payment for the 119.

Question I want to ask is what is the obligation of the dependent, i.e. wife, under the 119? Is she bound to work in regional area too or only myself. She would like to work in Universities which is mostly located in metro area. I cannot find any info on this. Anyway, I will be going for Geelong, and not too far from Melb

No obligation on secondary RSMS visa holders, as far as I am aware.

By the way, your 175 application will not be affected by a 119 application.

Dont take it as a reference. My employer is well established university, so that might get the RCB nomination cleared faster. But still got stuck at DIAC for nearly 2 months
