Hi All,

Does anyone have any advice for the 2nd stage of a defacto application to stay on in Australia? My 2-year temporary visa is about to expire and I am unsure of what happens from this point? What paperwork do we have to submit to prove our relationship is still going strong?

I have all the usual stuff (bills etc) I just don’t want any surprises so any advice you guys can give would be most appreciated!

I believe you should have received the paperwork you require from the DIMIA already. That is, of course, if your address now is the one they have on record. I think Bondipom went through this last year and may be a good person to PM for more info

Yep, from what Bondi has said in the past they will send you the necessary paperwork just before your visa expires. As Michelle says, have you kept DIMIA up to date with your current address?

Hey,

Yes I have kept them all up to date but everything seems to have gone quiet! Answering machine only at the Immigration Office and I know my old immigration officer has changed but have not been issued with another! Wonder if they have forgotten about me(I WISH!).

Am hoping to go overseas for Christmas - hope they contact me either way before then!
