Hi Candice -

I am frm India and ironically, my application date was Feb 7th, 2007 and I recd. the acknowledgement on March 1st, 2007. The only thing I would suggest is to complete your Medicals and PCC asap, as your application could be due anytime.
My agent had also told me a Nov 2007 or Dec 2007, but was shocked to get my Grant letter sooner than expected.

My application was under 136, which was a priority one. Is your application Priority too ?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. my application is also a priority, its a subclass 496, skilled designated area sponspored visa. my agent tells me due to back log i can expect my medicals only end of Nov 2007. It's been 8 months since i've lodged my application and the wait is frustrating.:thumbdown

did you have a job verfication done and if so was it before or after your medicals? and how was the job verification done?

After your medicals how long did you wait for your grant letter.

please let me know which part of India are you?

So when do you expect to fly to Oz?

Hi Candice -

I am currently in the US. I did my medicals in Feb 2007 itself, straight after my application.

I am not sure about the job verification that you asked me, but I had given a heads up to my employers, that they should expect a verfication.

I am plan to be in Aussie for the week of the 25th December, and come back to US. Dont know about when will be the next time I will go to Aussie.

Hi rp02809094,

I am 136 MODL applicant. Applied on 9 Feb 2007. I have done medical and police unrequested 3-4 months ago. Did you get pre-grant letter right away or DIAC requested you for PCC and medicals?

Thanks,

-mfa

So when do people on 175 expect to recieve their PR visa? It seems that a year to 18 months isnt unrealistic, even for priority applications like nurses.

Hi mfa -

The first thing that I heard from the immigration office was his email sending me the grant letter.

So if you have front loaded your PCC and medical, and send it accross to you the immigration, and everything else in your application is complete, then you could straight get the decision (whether granted or not).

Only if your application is not complete, or any clarification is required, then you will get a question from the immigration officer.

hope this helps.

Looks like the ASPC received quite a few applications in the last few days of June (no progress in acknowledging applications) - probably owing to the fact that the processing fee was hiked from the first of July.

Hello all,

Application 47ES sent 15/09/07
Xrays on the 17/09/07
Medicals on the 25/09/07
acknowledgement via e-mail 20/09/07

Got medicals and x-rays done before being asked. Hoping to speed things up as much as possible. Haven't got a clue about timeframes though really. Has anyone gone, over or hoping to go over, on regional sponsored migration 47ES.
p.s. i'm a paramedic going to SA. SA ambulance have told me they have contacted DIAC trying to help speed the process along.
