Default Cost of Medicals

We have just submitted visa application and will expect to be called for medicals shortly as 139 visa's are priority. Just a quick question, how much do medicals cost and do you pay the doctor direct. I understand that my son won't have to have a x-ray because he is only 5. Is this correct.

Cheers

Lucy

Hello, you have to go to a panelled doctor, you can find a list on immi.co.uk, nearest to us was in southend, essex, for 2 adults and 2 children it cost us £480 which all had to be paid cash direct to doctor on the day. Your 5 year old son will not need a x-ray, just a medical. Good luck! We had our done and then DIMIA lost them so we had to have them done again, at our expense would you beleive!

2 medicals including x-ray and bloods:

£100=meds*2
£66= x-rays
total £166 for two people or £84 each

....is this a record?

Seems that prices vary depending where you are and which doctors you use.

We had our med's done last week at Southend, costs as follows

3 Xrays (2 adults and my son aged 12) £63 each
2 adult medicals £140 each
2 child medicals £50 each

total cost £569

wish I had gone to david747's doctor.

Hi it just depends on where you go its best to ring a few up near to you to get different prices. plus if you have any tatoo's or piercings you have to have blood test which all adds up

We had to have a blood test as standard even though neither of us have tatoo's. The cost of our blood tests were included in the medicals cost.

I went to Travel Screening Services, Harley St, London:

Aus Perm Medical (including blood test) - £120
X-Ray - £35

The X-ray place is only a couple of minutes walk away, which is handy if you don't mind braving the rail system and London in general ... good excuse for high blood pressure though :-)

Cheers,
Matt

I booked them a month before, but could of got in sooner but we were on holiday for the first dates offered.
They only work Tues/Thurs 2-5pm, and only take phone calls between these times also.
The receptionist today said their workload had increased 125% over last few years and they now do up to 40-60 immigration medicals per week!
