Hi

I guess it is a piece of string, however as a guide I have bought glasses in both. I paid £250 here for mine. They are high refractive, non reflective glass so they are the expensive types of lenses. I usually pay about $400 in Australia for the same type. However in all cases the bulk of the cost has been in the frames - I wear them full time so I am very fussy.

As far as contact lenses I buy the disposable opaque type - again not the cheapest and these last cost me (I think) $40 ish a pair in Australia. I have not bought these in the UK so I don't know the cost comparison.

I have private insurance in Aus, so there are rebates of about $200 there but nothing here.

Hope this helps a little

Frames are quite a bit higher in price (I'm tempted to buy them fromm back
home and have lenses put in here) lenses appear to be the same price.
