Default Computing Professionals -- Doubt to be on CSL after MODL

Hi,

I am a bit confused as I read on this forum that we need to change our occupation slightly on Post Lodgement Inquiry to come on the CSL List. Is that right?

Can some one please provide me assurance that I am on CSL? Here are my details:

Skilled Independent (Class VE, subclass 175)
Nominated Occupation:: Computing Professionals - Applications and Analyst Programmer
Name of assessing authority:: Australian Computer Society
MODL:: YES (2231-79) (.NET Technologies Specialist)

Please advice.
Regards,

You need to send PLE stating to change in Nominated Occupation as we (even I have) chosen same profession as you. I have discussed here

Hi,

I really appreciate your help. One last question to bother you, do I need to send PLE from my (authorized) email account or I need to use DIAC website for sending PLE? Also, What should I ask them ? Please change my Nominated Occupation from "Computing Professionals - Applications and Analyst Programmer" to 2231-79 (.Net Technology Specialist)" Is that right? Please note that I have ACS approval that says i am successfully qualified for (2231-79(.Net Technology Specialist).

If you are using an agent then please ask your agent to send PLE for you else you can do it on your own. In case you dont have an agent then use the PLE form on immi website.

Dear Imran,
I think you need to change to Computing Professional (not e/where class). Even I have same approval as you are. Even I have done same. As 2231-79 (.Net Technology Specialist) does not exist in list.

I have sent PLE on 13th April bt didn't got any reply till date.

Got a reply

"Thank you for advising that your nominated occupation is on the Critical
Skills List. We can confirm that this information has been noted on your
file.

The allocation of applications on the Critical Skills List has
commenced. Each application will be checked to identify if it meets the
priority processing criteria as announced by the Minister of Immigration
on the 17 December 2008. The process to identify applications that meet
the priority processing criteria is ongoing.

If your application is identified as meeting the priority processing
criteria, your application will be referred to the relevant processing
area for allocation to a case officer. Applications will be processed in
date of lodgement order.

We appreciate your patience as this process is conducted."

But don't know whether they have changed my occupation or not

As lalitahuja advised: you have already applied under the correct ASCO code. You just need to notify DIAC through the PLE of this fact. If I am correct you are looking for the words to use. I ticked the box "Other" when filling out the PLE and typed this in the box:

"I am entitled to CSL priority handling on my subclass 175 visa application. My skills are assessed by the ACS as suitable under 2231-79 (.Net Technologies Specialist) + MODL."

I received a reply that the information was noted on my file.

Good luck,
Sylvia

Thank You Sylvia,

Actually I called DIAC today and strange enough they asked me to send 1023 form filled to make correction to my nominated occupation from "Applications and analyst programmer (2231-17) to "Computing Professionals
not elsewhere classified (nec) - 2231-79" as I got 2231-79 by ACS in assesssment letter. I am confused now; some applicants said on this forum that PLE should be used and they have used PLE successfully. What should I do?

Even in your case Sylvia, they did inform you if your nominated occupation was changed or not?

Sylvia did not change her nominated occupation. She (like many including myself) sent a PLE to notify DIAC that we were CSL.
If you need to change your nomination then I would do as DIAC said and use 1023. You could wait until that is confirmed and then do a PLE to advise of CSL status.

Slackbloke,

Please guide me here:
My nominated occupation in my application is "Applications and analyst programmer" which as ASCO Code as 2231-17 where as in my ACS approval letter I have been successfully qualified for 2231-79(.Net Technologies Specialist). 2231-79 is "Computing Professional (nec)". Do I need to change my profession in my application or is it fine?

Regards,
Imran

Yes you need change your profession as advised by DIAC. That is a totally separate issue to being CSL. All ACS MODL applicants have had to advise DIAC about being CSL.

So,
1) Change profession to correct one
2) Update DIAC using PLE about being CSL

@Imran:

For whatever reason did you nominate a different occupation than you got your assessment for??? They must match for your application to be succesful! The 2231-79 is more generic and covers also Applications and analyst programmer, and qualifies you for MODL and currently is also on CSL.

So do as DIAC says and get it corrected. Send the requested form and also send them a reminder that this qualifies you for priority processing.

Cheers,
Sylvia

Sylvia,

I really appreciate your help. I downloaded form 1023, did not got a print and filled its soft copy on my PC as it is a PDF form. Last page has an area for signature, now, i am helpless for this section. I have to print it and sign this form. Then I need to scan all pages of this form.

Currently, it is one pdf file comprising of 4 pages but when I will print it and then scan it again, it would be 4 pdf files (1 file per page), should I send them as it is to DIAC or is there any other way that can be helpful?
