Hi! I have just applied for citizenship, having had my Permanent Residency for 5 years. My question is a bit pie in the sky: Do you think the previous processing timeline of 15 months for citizenship will now be shortened given that Australian Immigration staff are NOT so busy processing so many other visa applications? I'm hoping someone has some insight.

Other applications are still being processed, but all timelines seem to be extended and some visas may not actually be granted yet as people cannot travel, do medicals etc.
As regards citizenship there may well be a delay owing to them having to work out how to do the tests with physical distancing in place. Then there is a wait for a ceremony, although some of these do seem to be undertaken online.
