Citizenship questions
Hi,
I'm just completing mine and my husbands application for Australian citizenship and 3 things have come up which I need answers for please!
1. My husband is estranged from his father and neither my husband or his mother knows his dad's DOB, what can we do in this instance?
2. My husband lost his previous passport, so we cannot send a copy of proof of his first arrival in Australia. What should we do?
3. My husband only has an abbreviated UK birth certificate, he has used this for applying for PR amongst other things and has never come up with a problem....it is worth just sending the abbreviated one off to see if it will be accepted? or should we go through the application for his full birth cert now before we send the citizenship app? If we can get away without doing that, it would be good!
Thanks for your help!

Re: Citizenship questions
Assuming you are applying for citizenship based on your own PR + residence in Australia:
1. Write down "unknown".
2. Doesn't matter. DIAC have it on their system. Write down that passport was lost.
3. Short form birth certificates are useless and you should have been asked for long form. You can get long form from the U.K. fairly quickly.

Thank you, we've just sent off for the long form birth cert now
