Citizenship and previous convictions
Ok, we were honest with previous convictions from his youth and have been here 5 years this year!!! Want to be citizens but the form says:
A conviction may be considered spent if it is 10 years since the date of the conviction (it was over 16 years ago)
It also says:
A statutory or prescribed exclusion does not apply.(what is this??)
So, what do we do? We haven't been outside Australia since arriving in 2009. No need for overseas penal clearance.
Do I attach a letter saying he has convictions from 16 years ago?
Help!!!

And you're right, no need to get a pcc unless they request it - unlikely as you haven't left Australia.
