This may be a long shot, My wife is Australian i am awaiting my partner visa, We have applied for our son's citizenship by decent but it is currently giving a process time of 8 months.

Can we get our sons Australian passport when we pick my wife's up or will we need to wait until we get his certificate as well.

On another forum recently a chap got his Citizenship by descent certificate within a month so you might be lucky. Will need the certificate before you can apply for his passport. All depending on the AHC you may or may not require a trip to London for the application. You shouldn't need to go to London to collect your wife's passport, they generally mail them out.
