Default child born in Au and help from au governement?

Dear Al,

We ( myself and wife) got our PR visa 2 weeks back :-) and today is one more news from my wife :-) . She is pregnant and in fact we both are moving to Melbourne first week of September.

I would like to know if our child born in Au what is the visa status of child and will my wife get any help (financial) from Au government or not? If so pls do let me know the websites where i can get some info.

Kind Regards

Hi Shiv,

Your child will be an Australian citizen. For information on your entitlements you should check www.centrelink.gov.au . I think a nice little bonus of A$3000 may be coming your way, in addition to the family allowance.

Cheers,

Hi George,

Thans for your reply, DIMIA sites says, 2 years migrant wont get any help from government. As you suggested we may get 3000au $ how it is possible. We are going to enter the country first time on PR visa basis. Can you explain us in a better way of understanding

Thanks and Regards

Hi Shiv,

Start by looking at the Centrelink site. You'll come to love it in time, no doubt...
